Benefit of New Education Policy 2020

Recently many changes have been made in the educational system of India from school to college level. The Union Cabinet has approved the new National Education Policy reflecting all the changes. This newly approved scheme talks about major transformational reforms in the Indian educational sector, which has been appreciated by many. There is praise as well as criticism which focus on the shortcomings of this new education policy.

Benefit of New Education Policy 2020 are Following:

1- The government aims to make school education available to all with the help of NEP 2020.

2- Through this new approach, about two crore school students will be able to return to educational institutions.

3- As per the National Education Policy 2020, the 5+3+3+4 structure will replace the existing 10+2 structure. This structure focuses on the early years of a student's learning. This 5+3+3+4 structure corresponds to ages 3 to 8, 8 to 11, 11 to 14 and 14 to 18. 12 years of schooling, 3 years if this structure includes Anganwadi and pre-schooling.

4- For children up to the age of 8 years, a National Curriculum and Educational Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education will be designed and developed by NCERT.

5- As per the National Education Policy 2020, the Ministry of Education is to set up a National Mission on Basic Literacy and Numeracy. The responsibility of successful implementation rests with the states of India to achieve the foundation of numeracy and literacy for all students up to class III. This implementation is scheduled to be done by 2025.

6- One of the highlights of NEP 2020 is the formation of a National Book Promotion Policy in India.

7- Appropriate authorities will conduct the school examination for grade 3, 5 and 8. Board exams for class 10 and 12 will continue but NEP 2020 aims to redesign the structure with holistic development.

8- Parakh National Education Policy is to be set up by the Govt.

9- Academic Bank of Credit will be set up as per the National Education Policy 2020. Credits earned by students can be stored and calculated when the final degree is completed.

10- As per the National Policy on Education 2020, multidisciplinary education and research universities at par with IITs and IIMs will be set up in the country. These are about to be set up to start multidisciplinary academics.

11- The same list of accreditation and regulation rules will be used to guide both public and private educational bodies.

12- Affiliation and autonomy will be given to colleges in a phased manner.

13- To join the teaching profession by the year 2030, it will be mandatory to have at least a four-year B.Ed degree.

14-To prepare students for future pandemic situation, online education will be promoted in a big way.
