Educational Visit and Picnic to Sanchi Organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, SIRT
On 08 December 2025, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SIRT, successfully organized a picnic cum educational visit to Sanchi, a world-famous heritage site, for 35 students. The visit was designed with the objective of combining learning with recreation, providing students an opportunity to explore India’s rich cultural and historical heritage while enjoying a refreshing break from routine academic activities.
During the visit, participants explored the Great Stupa of Sanchi, monasteries, pillars, and museums, gaining insights into the significance of Buddhist architecture, art, and history. Faculty members explained the historical importance of Emperor Ashoka’s contribution to Buddhism, making the visit both informative and engaging.
The picnic and educational visit were coordinated by Prof. Ajit Rastogi and Prof. Rahul Tiwari, under the guidance of Prof. N. K. Sagar, Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering. The program successfully blended learning with recreation, enhancing students’ understanding of Indian heritage while fostering camaraderie among participants.
