SIRT Conducts Sage Winter School Program on “Use of Modern Software in Mechanical Engineering”
In today’s highly competitive environment, textbook knowledge alone is not sufficient for success in the professional world. Students need updated knowledge and practical skills to meet the ever-changing demands of industry. Keeping this objective in mind, the SAGE Group of Institutions regularly conducts 2–4 value-added courses every semester across various disciplines. These programs are designed to provide expertise in high-demand areas and enhance students’ employability and technical competence.

Continuing this initiative, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sagar Institute of Research and Technology (SIRT), Bhopal, successfully organized a Sage Winter School (SWS) Program on “Use of Modern Software in Mechanical Engineering” from 22nd December 2025 to 7th January 2026. The program was aimed at providing students with practical exposure to modern engineering software tools widely used in the mechanical engineering industry.

The program was coordinated by Prof. Rahul Tiwari and Prof. Dheeraj Jain, who guided the participants throughout the training sessions. During the program, students gained hands-on experience in 2D drafting, 3D modelling, and the design of various mechanical components using advanced CAD software. The training focused on developing industry-relevant skills and enhancing students’ understanding of modern engineering design practices.

A total of 40 students participated in the program, including 25 Sageian students and 15 Non-Sageian students. Through interactive lectures, software demonstrations, and practical design exercises, participants strengthened their technical competencies and learned how modern software tools are applied to solve real-world mechanical engineering problems.

The program provided an excellent platform for students to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial requirements. The successful completion of the training equipped participants with valuable software skills, improved their design capabilities, and enhanced their readiness for future career opportunities in the mechanical engineering domain.
