SIRT Bhopal Organizes Interactive Alumni Session on “Project to Product Development”

Bhopal. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Sagar Institute of Research and Technology (SIRT), Bhopal, in association with the Student Project Development Cell, Student First Initiative, and SIRT Alumni Association, successfully organized an interactive alumni session under the “Hand Holding” initiative by SAGE Group.

The session was conducted on the topic “Project to Product Development, Focusing on Industry Expectations and Practical Insights” with the objective of guiding students on transforming innovative academic projects into industry-ready products.

The expert speaker for the session was Mr. Gautam Singh, proud alumnus of the 2020–2024 batch and currently working as Assistant E-Commerce Manager at Hygienic Research Institute Pvt. Ltd. He shared valuable insights regarding industry expectations, product development strategies, practical implementation approaches, startup mindset, and career opportunities in the technology sector.

During the interaction, students gained practical exposure to real-world product development processes, market requirements, professional skill enhancement, and the importance of innovation-driven thinking. The session also encouraged students to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial applications.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Sarvesh Shukla, Director General, and Dr. Rajiv Srivastava, Director, SIRT. SGI Convenor Dr. Minal Saxena motivated students to actively participate in such industry-oriented learning initiatives.

The program was convened by Dr. Mohit Singh Tomar and Prof. Arun Jhapate, HOD, CSE & CSBS. Faculty coordinators Dr. Praveen Kumar Kaithal and Prof. Monika Kherajani played an important role in successfully organizing the session, while student coordinators Prashant Sahu and Simant Singh efficiently managed the event activities.

The session concluded with an engaging interaction between students and the speaker, making it a highly informative and inspiring experience for all participants.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering organized an industrial visit to Dhritii.ai on 25 March 2026 at Elegant Business Park, Peoples, Bhopal. The visit was conducted with the objective of providing students practical exposure to emerging technologies, industry workflows, and real-world applications of Artificial Intelligence and modern software solutions.

A total of 37 students participated in the visit under the guidance of faculty coordinators Prof. Amit Singh Sengar and Prof. Shubham Gangrade. During the session, students interacted with industry experts and gained insights into AI-driven product development, innovation practices, startup culture, and current industry trends.

The industrial visit helped bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by enhancing students’ technical knowledge, professional awareness, and understanding of real-time project environments. The visit also motivated students to explore career opportunities and advanced technologies in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering.

Figma is a collaborative web application for interface design, with additional offline features enabled by desktop applications for macOS and Windows. The feature set of Figma focuses on user interface and user experience design, with an emphasis on real-time collaboration utilizing a variety of vector graphics editor and prototyping tools. The figma mobile app for Android and iOS allows viewing and interacting with Figma prototypes in real-time on mobile and tablet devices.

In the current competitive scenario textbook knowledge is not enough for survival in the market. One should have updated knowledge on various sectors for both technical and management students. On this track, SIRT Bhopal conducts 2-4 value addition courses in each semester of every stream, in which our group tries to provide them expertise in the field which is in high demand in the market that surely adds value to their course.

SIRT Bhopal is very lucky to have academicians having rich experience in research and development area. Apart from teaching they spend their valuable time in developing various research projects to send for sanctioning of grants in various funding agencies. Some of the faculty members have been succeeded in getting the sanction of grant for their projects which has not only raised their knowledge but also the quality of Research & Development in SIRT. It is also helpful in creating research orientation among our students. Some of our faculty members have prepared such a quality projects that many MTech and BTech projects at a small level have been derived from these.

Industrial visits are the important part of our curriculum. It is a visit to the industry before completing studies in order to understand the reality and get prepared for it. The main aim of industrial visit is to provide an exposure to students about practical working environment. They also provide students a good opportunity to gain awareness about industrial practices.

Our students can excel in their field not only through textbooks but also by attending various workshops of renowned experts and learned personalities in the particular field. With the help of these kinds of workshops they will get practical exposure and will also get updated with what is going around the world. These workshops help our students gain strong foothold in their respective discipline and help them stand out among the rest.
